Newton County, Arkansas
No reservations. No pretense. Just a stretch of Ozark forest on Co Rd 129 where you can pull in, hang your hammock, and let the noise of the week dissolve into pine and river stone.
About the Campground
Ozark Campground sits on a quiet stretch of County Road 129 in Newton County, deep in the heart of the Ozark highlands. There's no main road roaring past, no neon on the horizon — just rolling ridges, white oak and hickory, and the kind of darkness at night that makes you remember what stars actually look like.
We don't do Wi-Fi, we don't take reservations, and we don't try to be anything we're not. What we offer is straightforward: a level patch of ground under a tree, access to clean restrooms, and the freedom to set up your tent or park your rig and disappear for a few days.
Whether you're passing through on the way to Table Rock or you've come specifically to slow down, this is a place that asks very little of you — and gives back in stillness.
Campsites & Amenities
Pull in wherever you arrive. Each site is nestled among mature trees with natural shade and a sense of privacy that fence-line camping just can't replicate.
Mature oaks and pines provide natural shade over every site. No need to fight for a spot under a tarp — the forest has already done the work.
Well-maintained restroom buildings with running water. We take pride in keeping things clean because nobody deserves to compromise on that.
No reservations needed — just show up and claim your spot. It's the old way of doing things, and honestly, it's the fair way.
Whether you're towing a full-size rig or carrying a backpack, there's a spot for you. Sites accommodate a range of setups on level, well-drained ground.
Sites are spaced apart and naturally screened by the forest. You'll have your own corner of the woods without feeling like you're sharing a parking lot.
No hookups, no generators running all night. This is real Ozark country — come for the silence, the stars, and the peace that only true remoteness can deliver.
The Surrounding Ozarks
Newton County puts you within reach of some of the most iconic outdoor experiences in the Ozarks — and half of them don't have a trailhead or a parking lot.
World-class trout fishing and clear-water swimming — just a short drive away.
Miles of untouched forest trails through white oak and hickory.
Cold, clear water for wading, fishing, or just sitting with your feet in it.

"We found this place by accident on the way to Table Rock. Stayed two nights and didn't want to leave. No cell service, no TV — just us, the trees, and a fire at night that felt like the real deal."
